Rhode Island KIDS COUNT regularly releases data- and research-driven publications, to help keep policymakers, community members, and advocates up-to-date on issues affecting Rhode Island children & families.

• The Rhode Island Kids Count Factbook is the primary publication of Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, and is published annually. The Factbook tracks the progress of 70 indicators, across five areas of child well-being: Family and Community, Economic Well-Being, Health, Safety, and Education.
• Community Profiles - Each year Rhode Island KIDS COUNT publishes city and town level data in the annual Factbook. All available information has been complied in an easy to read format for each city or town in the state.
• Issue Briefs - The Issue Brief series provides an in-depth analysis of current issues affecting children.
• Fact Sheets - Rhode Island KIDS COUNT publishes the Child Welfare Fact Sheet series and the Early Learning Fact Sheet series.
• Legislative Wrap-Ups - The annual Legislative Wrap-Up reports on the progress of selected laws and budget appropriations affecting children in the areas of economic well-being, health, child care and early childhood education, education and safety considered in the Rhode Island General Assembly's Legislative Session.
• Policy Briefs & Special Publications - Rhode Island KIDS COUNT periodically publishes special publications on timely policy issues.
• Data Tools - Rhode Island KIDS COUNT contributes data to the national KIDS COUNT Data Center, which is managed by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The Data Center connects you to over four million data points about the well-being of children and families in each state and across the country. You can easily access hundreds of indicators related to health, education, employment and income, child welfare, and many other topics.
• Presentations - In the Data in Your Backyard series, Rhode Island KIDS COUNT brings local data to city, district, and community leaders. The Data in Your Backyard presentations are brought to the community through local partnerships and collaborations

Rhode Island KIDS COUNT tracks the well-being of Rhode Island children and families across a wide range of issue areas: Child Welfare, Early Learning & Development, Economic Well-Being, Education, Health Coverage, Health Issues, Housing & Homelessness, Juvenile Justice, Racial & Ethnic Disparities, and Oral Health.

Through our data & publications, advocacy, and events, Rhode Island KIDS COUNT:

• Provides independent, credible, comprehensive information on Rhode Island's children.
• Uses that information to change or influence public policies and programs to improve children's lives.
• Provides information and strategies on "what works" and promotes best practices that will turn the curve on indicators of child well-being.
• Holds systems accountable and indicates where changes should be made to improve programs that don't work.
• Stimulates dialogue on children's issues and brings together individuals and organizations to develop strategies and solutions to improve children's lives.
• Engages in information-based advocacy to affect public policies and programs for the improvement of children's lives.
