DEFINITION: Accredited Early Care and Education is the percentage of nationally-accredited child care centers, private preschools, and certified family child care homes. Child care centers and preschools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Family child care homes are accredited by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC).
