| RI Senate approves $6.89 billion budget for the 2009 fiscal year and it has been signed by the governor. According to a press release from the Legislative Press & Information Bureau, the proposal (2008-H 7390A) maintains approximately 154 Head Start slots and eliminates 1,000 adults from RIte Care. The proposal also reduces the annual income eligibility level for RIte Care and allows RI to apply for a global Medicaid waiver.
