Elizabeth Burke Bryant, JD Executive Director ebb@rikidscount.org A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Ms. Bryant received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and a law degree from the George Washington University Law School. Previous positions include Policy Director for the City of Providence, Housing Court prosecutor, and consultant to the Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation, The Rhode Island Foundation, and the Women's Prison Mentoring Project. Ms. Bryant has been actively involved in several community organizations including the United Way of Rhode Island and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation. Catherine B. Walsh, MPH Deputy Director cbwalsh@rikidscount.org Cathie is responsible for program planning and management of all Rhode Island KIDS COUNT programs. She edits the Rhode Island KIDS COUNT Factbook, Issue Brief and Ideas that Work! series and conducts and supervises research, writing, and data analysis on children's issues. Cathie received her BA from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a certificate in epidemiology from the New England Epidemiology Institute at Tufts University. Prior to her current position, she was an independent consultant, a Program Officer for the Rhode Island Foundation, and Regional Manager for Family and Community Health Programs at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Leanne C. Barrett Senior Policy Analyst lbarrett@rikidscount.org Leanne is responsibe for early learning and early childhood development policy statewide. She is the coordinator of the Rhode Island Early Learning Council and co-wrote the state’s winning Race to the Top – Early Learning Challenge grant application. She is a state leader in the early learning field, having spearheaded the development of BrightStars, the state’s Quality Rating and Improvement System, staffed the state’s Pre-K Exploration and Design Committees, and played a central role in bringing the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood workforce development program to Rhode Island. She is the Project Director for the Rhode Island’s Evidence-Based Home Visiting grant and serves on the state’s Child Care Commission and Successful Start Steering Committee. Prior to joining Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, Leanne was Vice President and Director of Community Initiatives at United Way of Rhode Island and a national program manager for the American Business Collaboration for Quality Dependent Care at Work/Family Directions, Inc. She has a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology from Brown University and a master’s degree in child and family policy from Tufts University.

Jill K. Beckwith, MPH Senior Policy Analyst jbeckwith@rikidscount.org Jill is responsible for advocacy and policy analysis focused on a broad range of children’s health issues, including health insurance coverage and access to mental health and oral health care services for children enrolled in RIte Care. Most recently, Jill managed the Dental Care Access Initiative, a component of the Rhode Island Oral Health Access Project. Previously, she was the Director of Prevention at AIDS Project Rhode Island, Assistant Director at the Massachusetts Prevention Center in Cambridge, MA, and Associate Director of the Measurable Enhancement of the Status of Health (MESH) Initiative at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, PA. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dorene A. Bloomer Finance Director dbloomer@rikidscount.org Dorene is responsible for the accounting system and reports necessary to monitor and maintain the financial health of the organization. She prepares regular reports to foundation and government funders and monthly financial statements and materials for the annual audit. Prior to her current position, she was the General Accounting Supervisor for AAA Southern New England and the Director of Finance and Administration for the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island. Dorene received her BA from Rhode Island College.

Stephanie Geller, EdM Policy Analyst sgeller@rikidscount.org Stephanie is responsible for policy analysis, research, and writing on a variety of issues affecting the well-being of children, including poverty, family economic security, housing, homelessness, and child behavioral health. Stephanie also helps to coordinate the research and writing of the annual Rhode Island Kids Count Factbook. Most recently, Stephanie was a Research Associate at the National Center on Family Homelessness where she managed a multi-site study that examined the effectiveness of different housing and service approaches for homeless families. Previously, Stephanie was Research Director at Volunteers in Health Care and Scientist at the National Center on Substance Abuse Treatment Needs Assessment. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wellesley College and a Masters in Education with a focus on Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Amy Lanctot Communications Coordinator alanctot@rikidscount.org Amy is responsible for all of Rhode Island KIDS COUNT's internal and external communications needs. Amy responds to media inquiries, writes and edits our organization's e-newsletters, maintains the websites and assists with community events. Prior to working at Rhode Island KIDS COUNT she was Rhode Island Housing's Marketing Communications Coordinator. She also spent many years working as a TV news producer at WPRI, WNAC and WLNE, all in Providence. While at WPRI, she earned two regional Emmy Award nominations and her newscasts received multiple Associated Press awards for Best Newscast. Amy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

John Neubauer, MSW, LICSW Policy Analyst jneubauer@rikidscount.org John is responsible for child welfare and juvenile justice policy at Rhode Island KIDS COUNT and is the Rhode Island coordinator for the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI), a juvenile justice reform effort sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Most recently, John worked as a Clinical Social Worker at Ocean Tides, a residential facility for adjudicated adolescent males, where he provided counseling to residents and their families. Previously, John was a supervisor at SKIP of New York, an agency that coordinates medical services for children with disabilities enrolled in a New York state Medicaid program. John has a Masters of Social Work from Rhode Island College and a Bachelors of Social Work from Providence College. He is also a licensed clinical social worker.
