Energizing the Community to Nurture Healthy Young People:
Taking Advances in Prevention Science to Scale

Thursday, October 21, 2010

In the video below, Dr. J. David Hawkins, a pioneer in the field of prevention science, describes the impressive maturation of prevention science with examples from randomized trials of effective strategies to prevent adverse youth outcomes. His presentation highlights opportunities to "take prevention efforts to scale" with examples of successful community-wide initiatives throughout the U.S. Joining Dr. Hawkins in a response panel are Margaret Holland McDuff of Family Service and Charles Williams of the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Heathcare, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals.

The annual Lipsitt-Duchin Lecture is co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Human Development at Brown University and Rhode Island KIDS COUNT.
